Consulting to the Consultants
The best consultants have their
own mentors and consultants. It helps to make sense of complex
issues, see the wood for the trees, and tap into other experience
and expertise. Consultancy Works offers both individual
consultation and group consultation.
Individual sessions are with an experienced
consultant who can help think through assignments and the
challenges faced when working with clients. There is also
a facilitated group session which provides a good forum
for sorting out dilemmas and gaining insights into group
psychology and dynamics.
Consultancy Works also offer a group
for people working in organisations. This meets monthly
and provides practitioners with an opportunity to develop
their thinking about their practice
and their informing theoretical frameworks.
There is a substantial experiential learning component to
this group.
The issues discussed are many and varied
with the emphasis on developing an understanding of what
it is that we bring to our work and how we can unconsciously
help or hinder the process of learning and change. Members
of the group will bring case material relating to the client
or the organisation for exploration and analysis.
Further learning in theoretical areas
emerge from the process of the group discussion rather than
the more conventional method of reading an article and then
discussing its contents.
