Jane
Linklater,
Managing Director
Jane is a practitioner with a deep grounding in psychodynamic
approaches to consulting, coaching and facilitation both
with individuals and groups. Her previous experience of
working therapeutically with children and families remains
an important influence on her organisational work.
“For me, conflict is something
to be understood rather than a problem to be solved; and
it’s also about growth and the recognition that with
understanding ‘difficult’ individuals and groups
can be helped to grow and develop. My effectiveness comes
from experience as a manager, my grounding in psychodynamic
thinking and a systemic approach to organisation development.”
Her skill is in working with senior teams, particularly
at board and executive level. Recent assignments include:
working with Sheffield Care Trust in their successful drive
to achieve 3-star status; helping the Department for International
Development set up offices across Southern Africa and Ghana;
and facilitating organisational development work with AIB
(Allied Irish Bank) and Nokia.

Before setting up Consultancy Works, Jane was a manager
and clinician in local government. She trained as a systems
family therapist at the Tavistock, where she developed expertise
in working on ‘group relations’ and the associated

has proved valuable in helping people understand the complex
issues that hinder effective group functioning.
Janes has an MSc in organisation development from Sheffield
Hallam University (1989). She trained in family therapy
and group relations at the Tavistock Clinic and is a qualified
social worker. |
