Howard
Atkins,
Consultant
Howard is a consultant and lecturer, specialising in organisation
consulting, Action Learning, and executive coaching. He
has worked in some 16 countries where his focus has been
on helping individuals and groups realise the options available
to them and support them in experimenting with new ways
of achieving their goals.
His work in the field of Action Learning includes working
with NatPCT on a world class facilitator programme. This
entailed working with sets of chief executives of Acute
and Primary Care Trusts, on the development of working practices
that make systemic improvements in the local healthcare
economy
Howard helps develop the consulting capability of internal
consultants in major corporations, including Nestle, SLAM,
Virgin Atlantic, and Sony. He has also been engaged in the
development of ‘open programme’ MScs in organisational
development for Sheffield Hallam and AMOC, Ashridge. He
also provides executive coaching for middle and senior managers
in healthcare and IT, and professionals taking up new managerial
and leadership responsibilities.
He started his career as an internal quality and safety
consultant in BR before becoming an external consultant.
He has a BSc (Hons) in Business Economics from Southampton
University and an MSc OD from Sheffield Business School.
His other professional qualifications include BPS Level
A and MBTI accreditation.
