Adrian Spurrell
Consultant
Adrian has been working successfully in leadership and management development, specifically focusing on attitudinal and behavioural change,
for over 15 years. His strong background in finance and business provides a robust and challenging pragmatism to his work while leaving room
for his firm belief in the capacity for people to change and to excel.
While Adrian possesses a passionate curiosity around models, his measured yet enthusiastic approach focuses upon helping his participants,
and those he coaches, to identify the actions they need to take and changes they need to make, in order to achieve their personal aspirations
and deliver the goals of the organisation sponsoring their development.
“I believe that the creation of a set of personal assumptions drive our behaviour and I aim to help individuals and teams understand their
core assumptions – about their talents, their motivations and their values; examine them in light of current challenges and having
re-validated them – helping them develop the skills or plans they will need to move forward effectively.”
Although Adrian’s prime area of skill is in helping leaders, teams and organisations ensure that there is alignment between, values,
vision and behaviour his development experience is extensive and demonstrates versatility. It includes:
- Working on a one-to-one basis with senior teams/boards
- Top team coaching and development
- Facilitating leadership development workshops for senior managers from international matrixed organisations
- Developing the performance management skills of line managers from both public and private organisations at all grades and from diverse countries
- Knowledge harvests to create web-based databases of best practice
- Talent development projects in central and eastern Europe
- Broadly based culture change projects
Adrian has worked with businesses in the pharmaceuticals, engineering, utilities, financial services, and petro-chemical sectors as well
as major central government departments, the NHS, local government, housing associations and charities.
Prior to becoming a consultant, which he has been doing for the last 15 years – including being a Director of a consultancy, Adrian worked
in the financial services sector.
He has a Masters in Business Administration, is a chartered banker, has a Certificate in Coaching Practice and is qualified in the use of
